Alia wrote the following story to her family and friends in early 2011, right after arriving from our backpacking journey all across Mexico and Central America:
"In these last months I have explored eight countries, and the beauties that reside within them. I saw bustling cities, ancient ruins, and quaint colonial towns. My lunch was taken under waterfalls, and my supper accompanied by the music of crashing waves. The landscapes were diverse, as well as the people."
